IMPORTANT COVID-19 ANNOUNCEMENT

Dear HAC Family’s:

As information continues to become available regarding the increasing spread of coronavirus (COVID-19), the HAC feels that it is in the best interest of our volunteers and participant families to temporarily delay all practices for the next 3 weeks thru April 5th. We will be reviewing all information as it becomes available for recommended practices and restrictions.  Once Howland Local Schools releases their restrictions on school activities, we will look to resume our season.

We are moving forward with admin, field prep, equipment, and uniforms to prepare for the start of the season so that we may resume more quickly when these restrictions are lifted.  Should HAC determine that the recommended delay of the season will extend beyond the 3 weeks, we will provide timely notification and information regarding the impact of such delay.

We will be adopting these new measures effective immediately.  We cannot stress enough how vital it is that all HAC participants adhere to the guidelines:

“No-Contact / No-Handshake” Policy
* “no-contact, no handshake” to be observed at every level of the organization until further notice
* This includes all physical contact and extends to customary game-related activities, such as pre-game coaches’ handshakes, umpire-coach introductions, and post-game handshakes between members of opposing teams.
* Instead, staff, players, and coaches should use verbal queues, such as saying “good game” without shaking hands, high-fiving, or fist pumping.

We also encourage using these proper precautions
* Wash your hands often, using soap and water for at least 20 seconds each time
* If soap and water are not available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol; this is suggested after   any physical contact with another person or with a shared surface
* Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth with unwashed hands
* Cover your mouth and nose – with a tissue, if possible – when coughing or sneezing, then properly discard the tissue in the trash
* Avoid close contact with anyone else who is coughing or sneezing or who is otherwise sick
* Clean or disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces

If you have any questions please feel free to contact myself or any of the officers listed on our web page Howlandac.com

Sincerely, Amanda Stewart HAC President
